Josephine Yam, CEO & Co-Founder of Skills4Good AI, recently spoke at the CanWIN Global Summit, hosted by the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada (APFC) in Toronto.

As a panelist on the Commercializing AI Solutions from Canada to Asia session, Josephine joined fellow women founders Shari van de Pol (CATTLEytics Inc.), Beth Rogozinski (Oncoustics), and Nuha Siddiqui (erthos), moderated by Melissa Chee (APFC Board Member).

The panel sparked thoughtful dialogue on the opportunities and challenges of scaling their AI companies across borders.

The summit provided an exciting opportunity for Josephine to share her founder journey and the mission behind Skills4Good AI - building the Duolingo of Responsible AI Literacy with short, values-driven microlearning lessons that empower professionals to lead in the AI-automated world.

She shared: “We're on a mission to democratize Responsible AI literacy - because the future belongs to those who can speak the language of AI with fluency, ethics, and purpose.”

Josephine also noted that Responsible AI Literacy is crucial because:

“AI without ethics is like a car without brakes.”
Using AI without guardrails isn’t just reckless - it’s dangerous.
It can harm you, your organization, and your community.”

This event also highlighted Skills4Good AI’s growing international presence and long-standing collaboration with APFC. Josephine has previously participated in APFC-led trade missions Singapore, Japan, India, Australia, and New Zealand, which have helped shape the company’s global strategy and partnerships.

Thank you to Christine Nakamura, Dr. A.W. Lee, and the entire APFC team for their visionary leadership and steadfast support for women entrepreneurs. Skills4Good AI is honoured to continue this journey with you!
