Global Affairs Canada (GAC) invited Skills4Good AI to share our expertise on how Canadian companies can leverage AI responsibly on a global scale.
Last week, our CEO and Co-Founder, Josephine Yam, JD, LLM, MA Phil (AI Ethics), led a session titled “Navigating Responsible AI in Global Markets: Closing the AI Upskilling Gap.” The presentation addressed the dual challenge of innovation and Responsible AI, the risks of non-compliance, and practical strategies from Skills4Good AI’s successful partnerships.
Tom Cumming, Deputy Director at the Ontario Regional Office of the Trade Commissioner Service (TCS), recognized the need to enhance TCS’ expertise in Responsible AI. He invited Skills4Good AI to provide this critical and highly relevant workshop to help Trade Commissioners advise high-growth Canadian companies in their global expansion.
With global AI regulations rapidly emerging, this training is crucial for ensuring Canadian companies understand and mitigate global AI risks.
Josephine Yam noted:
“We are proud to collaborate with the Trade Commissioner Service to guide Canadian businesses in harnessing AI responsibly. This workshop provided practical insights into using AI to enhance global business strategies while adhering to ethical and human rights standards.”
This presentation aligns with Skills4Good AI’s mission of democratizing Responsible AI literacy, ensuring non-tech professionals are prepared to navigate AI responsibly.
Global Affairs Canada has previously engaged Skills4Good AI to provide Responsible AI education to Canadian startups in New York City via the Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA) program.
